Do you recommend reading the Spiderwick Chronicles. and how many are there in the Series.

I am looking for a new series of books to read. I saw the movie Spiderwick and thought it was pretty good, and was wondering if reading the whole series would be worth my time.

Yes! I loved them! The books are much better than the movies, too. There are five books in the original series, beginning with The Field Guide, followed by The Seeing Stone, Lucinda’s Secret, The Ironwood Tree, and The Wrath of Mulgarath. There is now a new series about a different set of characters, called Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles, starting with The Nixie’s Song, followed by A Giant Problem and The Wyrm King, which is coming out next September.Happy Reading!

  2. 1. To Kill A Mockingbird 2. The Godfather 3. The Grapes of Wrath 4. The Quiet Man 5. Jaws BQ The Quiet Man

  3. The movie Spiderwick Chronicles was based on a series of children’s novels of the same name by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi, The Spiderwick Chronicles follows the life of the Grace family, who moved from New York City to an home they inherited in New England woods. Jared who was upset with his mom (Mary-Louise Parker) about having to move, begin to look around the house, and he discovered a magical book written by his great, great uncle Arthur Spiderwick (David Strathairn).before Jared and his twin brother, Simon (who was also played by Highmore) knows what is taking place they find theirself in the world of goblins, boggarts, and ogres–who live in the same world as humans. When thier sister Mallory (Sarah Bolger), finally finds out what is going on, the brothers are deeo in trouble with evil shape-shifting ogre Mulgarath (Nick Nolte), who will stop at nothing to get the book. Spiderwick is set in a beautiful earthy, aesthetic that is a wonderful place for its protagonists and naturalistic creatures.

  4. It is a good movie for all in the family, humor, children suspense and the idea of a family bond where working together can be seen and felt in this movie is all there.

  5. The major actors who hole starring roles are: Freddie Highmore, Mary-Louise Parker, Nick Nolte, Joan Plowright

  6. The Golden Compass – 3If you want to see it, or if you have other, older children you want to take to see it, I would get a baby sitter for the 3 year old. Children age 3 don’t understand the difference between real and unreal/fantasy, so the movie won’t mean a lot to your son. A child’s attention span at that age is not long enough to just sit and watch anything movie-length, much less something he doesn’t really understand, and I would guess that even sitting at the top row you are creating a distraction for others in the theater with a child that age walking around the theater. I haven’t seen the movie, myself, so I can’t tell you if it’s too scary for him, but each child is different, and you should know your own child best in those terms. If it was me, I would err on the safe side and not expose my young child to something that MIGHT be too scary–childhood is so short, so precious. Protect your child from frightening experiences–again, especially when he’s too young to be able to appreciate the difference between real/unreal. There’s always time for these things later.

  7. Beyond Spiderwick is a new series. So far there are 2. Nixie’s song and Giant problem. The Chronicles of Narnia – 7A Wrinkle in Time – 4

  8. It seems like there’s other books but not part of the series or any series just seperate books on their own.

  9. Tamora Pierce is an dazzling author, with various sequence like “song of the Lioness” and “The Immortals.” great reads, all. additionally, George R.R. Martin’s “A song of Ice and fire” sequence is surprising, nevertheless slightly greater stronger than countless what you have listed. finally, in case you like dragons, Anne McCaffrey has a “Dragonriders of Pern” sequence it extremely is a advantageous combination of fantasy and technology fiction.

  10. This Site Might Help You.A Wrinkle in Time, The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Golden Compass, and The Chronicles of Narnia are all finished series. So however many books are in each are all there will be. Artemis Fowl, The Sisters Grimm, Twilight, Pellinor and Maximum Ride are still being finished.

  11. There are 5 books in the orginal series – Field Guide, Seeing Stone, Lucinda’s secret, Ironwood tree, and Wrath of Mulgarath.

  12. Oh I saw that movie. Pretty cool. I can’t even remember the names of the actors, though. I know that the two main characters are the same person; it’s the boy from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The movie’s about one of the boys finding an old book about these mythical creatures in his new home. He’s not too happy about moving in. He read the book aloud, when it deliberately said not to do so. By reading the book aloud, all the creatures in the book came to life. The author of the book had disappeared years ago, leaving his daughter alone. He was the creator of all the creatures. Now the creatures were torn into two sides; good and bad. The boy tries to convince his brother and sister of what he’s seen, but they don’t believe him until they witness everything themselves. They need his eyeglass thing to actually see the creatures. They create a force field around the house, to keep away the bad guys. Basically, they have to find the guy who wrote the book, to figure out how to end everything for once.

  13. They’re are five books in the series. but the books are only about 100 pages each. the movie is all five books combined. personally, i liked them, they were a very easy read though. i’d give them a 6 or 7 out of 10.
