How Many Books Did Ellen White Wrote

Seventh Day Adventists, how would you respond.

If someone that you are teaching tells you that they have heard Ellen White was a plagiarist and because of that had very grave doubts about the veracity of the SDA (Seventh Day Adventist) beliefs, how would you respond? Do you personally believe she was or might have been but that does not reflect on whether your...

.Please tell me why Mrs. White’s writing should be doubted because she did not acknowledge some of her sources? ? ?Was Ellen White a plagiarist?Ellen White often made use of literary sources in communicating her messages. In the Introduction to one of her most popular books she wrote:”In some cases where a historian has so grouped together events as to afford, in brief, a comprehensive view of the subject, or has summarized details in a convenient manner, his words have been quoted; but in some instances no specific credit has been given, since the quotations are not given for the purpose of citing that writer as authority, but because his statement affords a ready and forcible presentation of the subject. In narrating the experience and views of those carrying forward the work of reform in our own time, similar use has been made of their published works” (The Great Controversy, p. xii).Ellen White’s use of other authors was not limited to historical or geographical material, but included other subject areas as well. Research has found that she enriched her writings with choice expressions from her reading more extensively than had been known, although the amount that has been documented thus far is a small percentage (less than 2 percent) when measured against her total literary output. In 1980 Dr. Fred Veltman, at that time the chairman of the Religion Department of Pacific Union College, undertook a detailed analysis of Ellen White’s use of literary sources in her book The Desire of Ages, a study which took eight years to complete. Copies of the full 2,561-page report were distributed to Seventh-day Adventist college and university libraries throughout the world. The complete report, including its 100-page summary, is also available online at the General Conference Archives web site. Look for “Life of Christ Research Project” under “Categories” at…Because she included such selections from other authors in her writings, critics have charged Ellen White with plagiarism. But the mere use of another’s language does not constitute literary theft, as noted by Attorney Vincent L. Ramik, a specialist in patent, trademark, and copyright cases. After researching about 1,000 copyright cases in American legal history, Ramik issued a 27-page legal opinion in which he concluded “Ellen White was not a plagiarist, and her works did not constitute copyright infringement/piracy.” Ramik points out several factors that critics of Ellen White’s writings have failed to take into account when accusing her of literary theft or deceit. 1) Her selections “stayed well within the legal boundaries of ‘fair use.'” 2) “Ellen White used the writings of others; but in the way she used them, she made them uniquely her own”–adapting the selections into her own literary framework. 3) Ellen White urged her readers to get copies of some of the very books she made use of–demonstrating that she did not attempt to conceal the fact of her use of literary sources, and that she had no intention to defraud or supersede the works of any other author.Ellen White “did not copy wholesale or without discrimination. What she selected or did not select, and how she altered what she selected” reveals that she used literary sources “to amplify or to state more forcefully her own transcending themes; she was the master, not the slave, of her sources” (Herbert E. Douglass, Messenger of the Lord, p. 461). See also The Truth about the White Lie.. . .

If Ellen White (of seventh day adventist fame) were alive today.

do you think she would call the internet evil? How about Yahoo Answers? You know, like she did with baseball, picnics, and eggs. Oh man wouldn’t it be great if seventh day adventists couldn’t access the internet less they sin in the eyes of their (false) prophet?

The Seventh Day Adventists trace their roots back to a Baptist Preacher named William Miller who had prophesized the Second Coming would occur between 3/21/1843 and 3/21/1884. When Christ didn’t come, he didn’t give up — he changed it to 10/22/1884. When Jesus failed to make an appearance again, he foreswroe his own prophesizing, stated that Jesus had actually appeared in the Temple in Heaven (instead of on Earth) and cleaned that up. He and his followers broke up into a bunch of competing groups, and he rejected their doctrine, including those of Ellen Gould White.Enter Joseph Bates — who in 1846 and 1849 issued pamphlets insisting Christians observe the Jewish Sabbath Day, instead of the Christian Sabbath of Sunday. Mark 16:9 Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. Act 20:7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul {began} talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight. These two streams of thought—Christ entering the heavenly sanctuary and the need to keep the Jewish Sabbath—were combined by White, who claimed to have received many visions confirming these doctrines. Together with Edson and Bates, she formed the S.D.A. denomination, which officially received its name in 1860.White claimed to receive the first of several hundred visions in Dec. of 1844. She gained recognition in Adventist circles as a prophetess and became the church’s leader. Over the next few decades, she provided guidance on almost every aspect of belief and worship, writing over 50 books commenting on health, education, finance, etc. Her works are held by her followers to be inerrant on matters of doctrine, as is the Bible, though they are on a slightly lower plane of honor than the Bible. The S.D.A agree with many Catholic doctrines, including the Trinity. Unfortunately, they also hold many false and strange doctrines. Among these are the following:(a) the Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon;(b) the pope is the Antichrist;(c) in the last days, Sunday worship will be “the mark of the beast”;(d) there is a future millennium in which the devil will roam the earth while Christians are with Christ in heaven;(e) the soul sleeps between death and resurrection; and(f) on the last day, after a limited period of punishment in hell, the wicked will be annihilated and cease to exist rather than be eternally damned.Anti-Catholicism characterizes the denomination because it is embraced in White’s “divinely inspired” writings. According to her, the papacy is the seven-headed beast from the sea in Revelation 13:1–10. Accompanying this beast is a lamb-like beast from the earth (Rev. 13:11–18). The latter causes the world to worship the former and has an image made of it. White proclaimed that the second beast is the U.S.A. (The Great Controversy, 387–8), and that it will force people to worship the papacy by “enforcing some observance which shall be an act of homage to the papacy” (ibid., 389). This observance, she says, is Sun. worship rather than Sat.. In her view, there will come a time when the U.S. will establish a “national Sunday law” and compel its citizens to worship on Sun. and thus take the mark of the beast. It will not compel them to become Catholics, but to join a Protestant state-church that is an “image” of the papacy, and thus, “the image of the beast” (ibid., 382–96).S.D.A. cannot change its views on the Catholic Church being the Whore of Babylon without admitting that it was wrong on Sunday worship. It cannot admit that Sunday worship is not the mark of the beast without changing its views on the Jewish Sabbath. S.D.A. cannot cease to be anti-Catholic without ceasing to be Seventh-Day Adventism. So all in all, the S.D.A. are both ontologically and theologically Christians. They are also “cult-like” in their paranoia of the Catholic Church, the papacy, and the USA’s role in the Mark of the Beast. They have launched such fringe cults as the Branch Dividians. Theirs is a doctrine of hatred and bigotry, all inspired by a sickly woman who supposedly had “divinely inspired” visions. Over 2000 of them.

christians how would you feel if someone added another testament to your bible that contradicted the original.

What if someone took your religion added some stuff to it and started to say you were in the wrong. You had the general idea correct but not completely and now are doomed to a life of hell? Because it sounds like what you people did to the jews. I mean who else would know better about their own prophecies than the…

The Scriptures containing the prophecies of their Messiah and how He would be crucified were written and in black and white 400 years before Christ was born.So those that “knew better” were long dead by this time, besides it was not THEIR prophecies but GOD’S.Many CULTS have tried to add books to the Bible or assumed the same authority as the Bible. From Ellen G White to the Roman Catholic religion and the Mormons.Don’t you think God is powerful enough to keep His WORDS pure as He promised???Psalms 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Fellow Atheists: How did uneducated people like Muhammad and Joseph Smith come up with their religious books.

I’ve been sorta wondering this, since as a teenager Joseph Smith supposedly found some golden plates, talked into a hat, and came up with the Book of Mormon.Similarly, an illiterate Arab nomad named Muhammad had these induced trances and came up with chapters of the Qur’an off his head. But when you…

It’s probably quite true that Joseph Smith had no real formal education. However, he was very well-read in the Bible, and there was a public library in Palmyra. His mother also tells, in her biography of her son, how he had a wonderful imagination, and he used to entertain the Smith family in the evenings by telling tales about the Indians, their customs, their great battles, etc. She says, on page 85 of the 1853 edition of Biographical Sketches of Joseph Smith The Prophet…”:”During our evening conversations, Joseph would occasionally give us some of the most amusing recitals that could be imagined. He would describe the ancient inhabitants of this continent, their dress, mode of travelling, and the animals upon which they rode; their cities, their buildings, with every particular; their mode of warfare; and also their religious worship. This he would do with as much ease, seemingly, as if he had spent his whole life among them.”This comment appears in the narrative just after Smith told his family that he had been visited by the angel and that he was going to receive the history of the ancestors of the Indians. However, he had not yet been able to read that history. Therefore, this comment shows that he was perfectly capable of inventing such things. That a person without formal education can produce a complex work of fiction or theology is no great miracle. Mohammed, for example, was also a completely uneducated young man, and yet he produced the Koran, which a billion Muslims (a thousand million – a hundred times as many as there are Mormons!) revere as the revelation of God. Shakespeare was also relatively uneducated, and his minimal formal education is one of the principal grounds for the claims that he could not possibly have written the works attributed to him. Just as uneducated was Ellen G. White, the prophetess revered by the Seventh Day Adventists. She wrote many, many volumes of “inspired” history, most of which are fairly accurate when compared with what historians have to say.

Read the statement below from a book by Ellen G. White. What do you think of it.

“Many profess to be on the Lord’s side, but they are not… By what means shall we determine whose side we are on? Who has the heart? With whom are our thoughts? Upon whom do we love to converse? Who has our warmest affections and our best energies?… Let everyone inquire seriously, Am I a genuine…

I am not an SDA and have not read anything written by Ms. White. HOWEVER. If that quote actually came from her, then she was absolutely on a firm Biblical foundation with it.1 John 2:1-6 ESV My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. (2) He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. (3) And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. (4) Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, (5) but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: (6) whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. How did He walk?John 15:10 ESV If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. What was His view of Torah?Matthew 5:17-19 ESV “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. (18) For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. (19) Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.I have many disagreements with the SDA’s. But in this case Ms White is correct.

Who has read some of Ellen White’s writings, and do you believe her. Why or why not.

Just some thoughts to roll around…..The text most often referred to in Ellen White writings is Matthew 5:14-16. She mentions it 264 times. The text refers to Christians as “the light of the world.”This gift of prophecy or Spirit of Prophecy, that the SDA church believes to be manifested in the…

>> Who has read some of Ellen White’s writings, and do you believe her?Yes, I have read a lot of her writings. I have also checked her out in comparison to what the actual Word of God has to say. She has never contradicted the Bible and has always held it up as the Primary Word of God. So, yes, I believe she was a true prophet. She was not in favor of being called a prophet, though, just a messenger, and she always stated that the purpose of her writings, the Lesser Light, were to lead people back to the Word of God, the Greater Light, — the Bible, itself. But what is a prophet? The primary purpose of a prophet is to speak for God and not to make “prophecies” concerning the future. As such, she is the most notable prophet for God to come on the scene since John the Revelator himself. Her writings on health, alone, were a hundred years before their time and modern science has only caught up to her in recent years (witness Paul Harvey’s many statements about her on radio). As for her prophecies, she has not been proved wrong there, either. Oh, yes, there are many whom claim she has been wrong. But those whom check out these claims thoroughly, and with open eyes and hearts, will find that the claimants have misconstrued her words either out of ignorance or out of their own blind hatred for either her or the Seventh-day Adventist Church — or both.God bless.EDIT: wheelsqueak:>> With the Bible, God did not inspire prophetesses to write scripture. In point of fact, E.G.White never wanted her writings to be used as “scripture” anyway — so what’s your point? But, like others whom speak without knowing about that on which they think to speak, you are incorrect. The prophetesses recorded in the Bible are: Miriam, the sister of Moses; Deborah was both a judge of Israel and a prophetess; Huldah (2Kings 22); Anna (Luke 2:36); and the 4 daughters of Philip (Acts 21:8,9). Now, perhaps you’re hanging your hat on the phrase “to write scripture.” That is a bigotted excuse to put women down. Plus, there is the fact that most of the Bible writers were not prophets at all — except in the sense that they spoke for God. Did you not know that we are all called to be both sons and daughters of God, brothers and sisters of Christ, and to be His prophets and prophetesses in that sense?God bless.EDIT: Robert C:>> saying he wore the number 666 on his mitreWhere’s your citation to prove this statement as more than hearsay and gossip?God bless.EDIT: emiliosailez:>> She comes across as a fanatic.Anyone whom sticks to the actual Word of God is deemed a fanatic by those who don’t. So, you’re not saying as much about her as you are about yourself.God bless.EDIT: Lone Ranger:>> Errors of Ellen White/SDA that I am aware of.>> –Festivals of Levitcus 23>> –Christmas and Easter>> –USA is Beast power>> –Identity of Lost Israelite TribesPeople really need to study things thoroughly for themselves, and give citations, before they start spewing the errors which others have made on a given subject. Ellen White never says that God’s Feasts were done away with — so this cannot be counted against her as an “error.” Those whom think she does come out against God’s Feasts are incorrect and are misconstruing her words. Instead, I feel she includes God’s Feasts as part of the Statutes which she says are commandments and still “…binding upon man in every age as long as time should last.” See complete citation below. She was also not in favor of Christmas and Easter. She also never said that the USA is the Beast power which comes up out of the sea in Revelation 13:1-10. What she says, and many, many others have said, is that the USA is the lamb-like beast power which comes up out of the earth in Revelation 13:11-17. I agree 100% with her on that one. And what are you referring to about “Identity of Lost Israelite Tribes”? Citation, please.God bless.EDIT: Lone Ranger:>> Once and for all Dave C, does the SDA Chruch teach that the Festivals>> of the Lord are done away with the “Ceremonial” Law?Boy, talk about ignoring everything else I had to say. But, to answer… Once and for all, Lone Ranger (because I’ve told you this before), as a doctrinal issue, no, it does not. It is only passed on as a tradition. There are literally thousands of SDA’s whom, like the noble Bereans, have studied this out for themselves (using both the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy) and therefore no longer swallow the traditional line on this subject.God bless.

Seventh Day Adventists: How closely do you follow Ellen G. White’s health ministry.

Preface to E G Whites book “Ministry of Healing”The world is sick, and wherever the children of men dwell, suffering abounds. On every hand there is a seeking for relief. It is not the Creator’s purpose that mankind shall be weighed down with a burden of pain, that his activities shall be curtailed by illness, that his strength wane, and his life be cut short by disease. But all too frequently the laws established by God to govern the life are flagrantly transgressed; sin enters the heart, and man loses sight of his dependence upon God, the source of life and health. Then follow the penalties of transgression–pain, sickness, death. To understand the physical laws governing the body and to bring the life practices into harmony with these laws is a duty of first importance. There is a need for an understanding of the many factors contributing to true happiness–a cheerful home, obedience to the laws of life, proper relationship to one’s fellow men. When sickness comes, it is essential that we employ the varied agencies which, in co-operation with nature’s efforts, will build up the body and restore the health. There is, also, a larger and more vitally important question–that of our relationship to the Creator who originally gave man his life, who made every provision for his continued happiness, and who today is interested in his welfare. In this volume, the author, a woman of large experience in the practical affairs of life, and one particularly favoured with rare insight and knowledge, has brought within the reach of every father and mother, every man and woman, lay and professional, a vast fund of information on life and its laws, on health and its requisites, on disease and its remedies, on the sickness of the soul and the healing balm of Gilead. The book is written in clear, simple, beautiful language, instructive to the learner, hopeful to the despondent, cheering to the sick, and restful to the weary. Through several decades it has conveyed its helpful message to hundreds of thousands, as it has been issued and reissued in many lands, in a dozen of the world’s leading languages. That this work, which presents a better way, revealing to us a simpler, sweeter life, full of joy and gladness, with room for that helpful service which “it is more blessed to give than to receive,” may fully accomplish its mission is the sincere hope of the publishers andThe Trustees of the Ellen G. White Publications.

Has anyone here compared the writings of Joseph Smith and Ellen White. How do their writing skills compare.

It would be interesting since they both have a claim to inspiration.

I read some of Joseph Smith’s writings. He sounded very prideful. Ellen White’s writings were more humble. White wrote according to the time in which she lived. Smith tried to imitate the KJV Bible in many ways. White’s books related to the Bible, Smith’s books tried to replace the Bible.

  5. Sadly, that’s true. I come from a wonderful, Bible believing church, but I know there are churches out there who build a whole denomination off of one verse (often taken out of context), or something else entirely. A good way to tell if a church is Bible teaching is to see if the pastor uses his Bible when he preaches, and if he goes all over the Word of God to teach a lesson.

  6. Add Christianity to the Bible? Valid, it’s a new covenant.Much of Mohammed’s writing is interpreted by another book written by another author much, much later after his death because the Quran is so foggy in its understanding.I agree with all the answers so far except the first one and the one above me (sabbathdayfreedom) which I gave a thumbs down to. Sister White Points you to Scripture, but is not above it or equal to it. And certainly, some of it was “period writings” and cannot or should not be taken out of context. After you join the Adventist Church, you WILL be Amazed at how little she’s quoted, but how True her writings ARE!

  8. It’s people following doctrines like this that gives sport to the trolls in R&S: the uptight churchgoer, the pedophile priest, the Christian athlete who gets busted for drugs; these are the people who give onlookers the wrong idea of what Christianity is about.

  9. i’m no longer SDA, attended SDA church some years back. The seventh Day Adventists do no longer worship Ellen White. That being mentioned they do take care of her writings on the point of Paul, Peter, the Prophets etc. the project is that the canon of scripture is closed. mutually as there’s no longer something incorrect with writing a e book in keeping with scripture like “The Sabbath interior the Crossfire” like Bachiocchi wrote. (in spite of if I disagree with lots of his different stuff) the project is whilst those writings are greater to scriptural point.

(Matt. 24:24)if you have the faith and purity to dare2) How about Yahoo Answers?– all Rcc beliefs can be found in the bible, some plainly others indirectly indicated. Scripture itself points out an authoritative church & tradition. St Paul points out in his second letter to the Thess – stand firm & hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or letter. Here are some scriptures to check out 2 Thess 2:15, 1 Cor 11:2, 2 Thess 3:6, 2 Tim 1:13-14 & 2:2. When the first Christians had disagreements they didn’t open their bibles – they didn’t exist – they held councils and held binding decrees – these councils were those who knew more then the others and they came to an agreement/understanding and thus made a binding decree (acts 15:1-29). The very books of the bible were determined by the Church (Rcc) and didn’t even happen until the 4th century – centuries of oral tradition. Without their determination and will to listen to the Holy Spirit, sent by God to inspire them there would be no bible.6 And other some fell upon a rock: and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. 7 And other some fell among thorns, and the thorns growing up with it, choked it. 8 And other some fell upon good ground; and being sprung up, yielded fruit a hundredfold. Saying these things, he cried out: He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him what this parable might be. 10 To whom he said: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing may not understand.Same old same old. 22. Seriously, there are far more complex literary works throught history and people came up with them too. I don’t understand why it would be exceptionally hard to come up with the Book of Mormon and the Qur’an.

  23. The principals are different but the order is the same..Christianity in reality did this with the New Testament. Protestants essentially did this when they split from the Catholics, changing drastically the core doctrines and religious text of the accepted and mainstream Christian religion. Yet when Mormons did it, suddenly they are a cult, evil, wrong and not Christian. Once and for all Dave C, does the SDA Chruch teach that the Festivals of the Lord are done away with the “Ceremonial” Law? If it does what are you doing there? You are not the only SDA on R&S, go read Gilbert W”s posts and questions. What, exactly, does your Church teach? Not what your personal beliefs are, mind you, what does your Church teach.

  24. What is there to compare? Ellen White’s writings are beautiful. She also never tried to take the place of the Bible like the Mormon Book does. She always said, “She was the lesser light pointing to the greater light (Bible)”. She also said that if only people would study the Bible she would have never had to write.

  25. When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously; thou shalt not be afraid of him. (Deut. 18:22)

  26. Very few ‘churches’ use the Bible as the only authority. That is the true test of the New Testament Church.

  27. Ellen White wrote many predictions that did not come true. If just one doesn’t the bible says they are a false prophet. she wrote:Same thing can be said about the Bible, the order of Creation is basically identical with the order of evolution, yet atheists claims that the bible was written by goat herders..Heard of Mormonism? That’s what it is, a faith based on Christianity that has added another testament, that’s what the Book of Mormon is. I don’t know what non-Christians think about what we think of them, but we do not consider them part of our faith. So, its not a “what-if” question, its already happened.

  28. does, too; just ask himOf course, Mormons dont believe people are going to hell in a way mainstream Christianity teaches and we believe that this was a restoration of the original church of Christ (hmmm Protestants, ring a bell) and we can show how the Book of Mormon and Bible do support each other if you interpret it from an LDS perspective (but of course some people cant seem to understand that whether or not something contradicts something or not is all in the interpretation and why does one sect have to accept or agree with the other for them to be Christian or not).*Especially* evil.

  29. Ellen White and the SDA’s want to pick and choose what Commandments from the Torah that they want to follow. For example, they understand the Sabbath and food laws and reject for the most part the Feasts of the LORD of Leviticus 23.The New Testament is a book for the faith based on the invisible nature.nope… but I’m sure the catholic church of the middle ages would burn people for using the internet.

  30. “But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth.” 1 Tim. 3:15

  31. to find out.5 The sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.Well the last statement is correct. And if one is only imitating Christ, it is empty religion. God wants a relationship with us, not just empty gestures.

  32. Jesus would return in the 1800’s

  33. “In the beginning there was nothing. God said, ‘Let there be light!’ And there was light. There was still nothing, but you could see it a whole lot better.”

  34. –Festivals of Levitcus 23At least I as a Mormon can see how humorous this all is even if I dont agree with what the question asker is asserting in terms of the Old Testament and Jews and the New Testament and Christians. And even if I dont agree with it, I can see this question askers point and it is a point all Christians that go around saying other sects arent Christian should really figure out!Jesus was definitely the Divine Messenger. He said a lot of great things. It’s the asshole Christians who twist his words around to condemn everybody and then they blaspheme by worshipping Jesus in the place of God. Even on here, the idiots say Jesus is God. Jesus would smack them, if he wasn’t dead. But God is alive, maybe He will smack them.

  35. uld= 555Christianity isn’t will-worship. That’s a good way to get an ulcer. It is in one’s weakness that one finds strength in Christ, not in one’s feeble attempts to imitate Him.Islam

  36. Look guys there are not perfect Christians, and no perfect Jews, and not perfect anyone. We all fall short of our goals, be they good or bad, so why does everyone want to beat each other up over details. The real goal should be to help each other see their errors and others to help us see our own, so we can all move closer to our goals whether it is Christian or not. I am Christian, I am not perfect, and my life is not always easy, but I work at it everyday and pray others can learn to help each other instead of judging each other. I am no man’s (or woman’s) judge. May the peace of Jesus be with each of you.

  37. BTW, Dave C does not reject the Festivals as far as I can tell. One of the few SDA’s I know of that understand their importance.More fear tactics. When I was a Christian I was constantly worried that I wasn’t “genuine” enough.

  38. Mormons didnt do anything differently than Christians at the beginning did and Protestants did to the Catholics. Yet look at how many Protestants like to say Mormons arent Christian. (I say Protestants because Catholics generally dont make that comment and actually get the same condemnation)Errors of Ellen White/SDA that I am aware of.There have been countless scribes and publishers who have been adding text to these books over the years. That’s especially the case with Islam, but in the case of the Mormons, that book is so nonsensical that it looks like a child wrote it. It looks exactly like what it is; a child or someone with the mentality of a child attempting to write another bible book. He even wrote it in a comical version of Elizabethan English even though he spoke English like we speak it today.

  39. What wasn’t stolen from those is basically their own manual on how to murder any non-Muslims, why they should do this, and how and why to bring Jihad to the entire world to submit it to Islam.E.G. White promotes the Trinity doctrine.–USA is Beast powerPeople are always trying to add to the bible, claiming we should have included this book or that book. Then there are the mormons with their “another testament of Jesus Christ”.wi =11

  40. Asking that question is also evil.If you loook in the Quran, you can see that quite a lot of it was stolen from Judaism and Christianity, some of which was left the same and some of which they twisted. With the Bible, God did not inspire prophetesses to write scripture. Why would He change this pattern in the last days? The fact of the matter is, God is the author of the bible. Jewish men, inspired by the Holy Spirit, wrote what is known as the New Testament.

  41. The bible? 40 authors, some unknowns, kings, poets, fishermen. These scattered papers somehow came together and the message has survived intact through three thousand years.

  42. Does this mean that our scientists can only think as great as primitive goat herders, or are our scientists catching glimpses of Gods abilities, that are written in Biblical terms within the Bible?..

  43. When all this started…some jews believed that Jesus was the messiah and decided to follow him…so in their minds the prophecies came to be true. The eventually became known as Christians. Other Jewish people did not think he was the messiah and decided the messiah was still to come. They remained true to their faith and, well, are Jewish.

  44. ll=100All phonies hate to be disclosed.Dark ages so right my dear Mormonism to the Bible? Blasphemy! In reality what makes more sense? That there was only one group of people thruout the history of the world that God ever had prophets and shared the gospel with and only one group of people that would ever have prophets and records from those prophets? Or that God would have found a way to share the gospel with many diff societies and people and just may have had prophets and scriptures thruout the world thruout the history of this world? Mormons, bytheway, do believe there are other scriptures out there by other prophets in other societies that just havent been brought to light yet, because we do believe God did not limit his message or teachings to just one part of the world and when the world is ready and willing and it is necessary, those records will be shared. More than one set of scriptures only strengthens and clarifies the message. It doesnt detract from it.

  45. Many of her writing are written in novel style, and as if she was a witness to certain events recorded in the Bible and then goes beyond what is written. The conflict between Lucifer and Christ for example.

  46. If the traditions and leaders of the Rcc did not hold to the scriptures (while some held violently or savagely) the majority shared and taught. Had the hierarchy of the Rcc not established the foundations where would Christianity be today? Would there even be a bible in print – I really don’t think so. Because people would not have shared their traditions. Most people century’s back never owned a bible like we do, gracious they couldn’t even read.
